Spanning espadrilles, loafers, skater sneakers and pumps – all flat and all designed for function as well as form, these shoes are like T-shirts for your feet. Slip on a pair and you're done. With every season comes different styles or shapes or colour – which you will always know about, compliments of Spree – but these basics never go too far away. Espadrilles, after all, has been around for 700 years and still are one of the only shoes to wear in summer. The canvas uppers breath and keep feet dry and a slip-on pair is perfect for summer in the city; wear them with straight-leg pants and an elegant blouse or crisp shirt to echo Italian fashion flair. Ditto a simple shift or linen tunic and slip-on espadrilles with a two-toned style or a pair with brightly coloured uppers to brighten your look. On a more urban note, look to skater sneakers (look, ma, no laces!) to inject a sporty vibe into a relaxed Saturday morning jogger-and-T-shirt combo. Punchy colours, velvety and satiny textures and metallic details have confirmed once and for all that you don't need a skateboard to look cool in these easy slip-on flats. In fact, you are sure to spot a few of these rubber-soled half sneaker, half slip-on loafer styles at the office. Another welcome revival is that of brogues (aka Oxfords or derby shoes). Although they are never banished to the fashion wilderness, there are times when they are not so easy to find. Not so with Spree: we stock simple lace-ups, classic stitched women's brogues as well as textured styles. While we know them as 'pumps' and 'flats', some international online fashion and shoe shops list them as 'work shoes' and we can't argue with that: flat pumps and flat women's shoes in general are indeed the workhorses of women's footwear. Have a look at these beauties. Whichever your pick – pumps, espadrilles, slip-ons or brogues – your feet will thank you for the break as you raise your personal style bar even higher. Pumps? Yes, please!
