Men’s board shorts are usually guy’s the number one choice for swimwear closely followed by swim shorts and then trunks and probably finally briefs. We’ve come a long way with men’s swimwear and you’ll see that you’re spoilt for choice when browsing our swimwear section. Are you a boardies guy? Or perhaps you like to show more leg. The key to finding the right pair of swim shorts is finding a style that you’re comfortable in and that suits your body type. Tall with a buff, athletic physique? Then you can probably get away with wearing any style. Your biggest concern would probably be colour and whether to choose a graphic print. If you’re tall with a lean build then go for longer board shorts. (The hem should finish just above the knee.) This is possibly a better choice than briefs, which can make you look too skinny. If you’re on the shorter side, but have quite a bulky and athletic build then choose a pair of swim shorts with a hem that finishes mid-thigh. It’ll show off your physique and complement your leg shape. With a buff bod, you can get away with bright colours and graphic prints, however if you’re short and lean then rather go for swim shorts in a darker, solid colour or a microprint. If you have a dark complexion or tend to tan easily then look out for brightly coloured swim shorts. You could even have some fun and choose a bright print. It’s swimwear so even the most conservative dresser can get away with bolder style choices. Look out for board shorts with quick-dry fabrics as these styles will always be comfortable, especially if you’re sporty and like outdoor activities – no chance of chaffing when your shorts dry quickly!
