As your baby girl moves from baby grows to separates you’ll want to stock up on a selection of bottoms. Get a selection of bright patterned pants, leggings and shorts and mix and match them with plain body suits for easy outfits each day. From animal print to fun florals and geometric, there are just so many options to choose from. The layered tulle skirts and glittery tutus are perfect for birthday parties or special occasions. You’ll get a lot more wear out of a skirt than one party dress as your baby girl can wear it with a selection of T-shirts and in winter you can layer it over tights with a zip-through hoodie.
The only challenge with skirts is that they are not ideal for crawling as your baby can crawl onto her skirt and then fall over. Leggings and joggers are ideal for when she’s learning to crawl. The soft fabrics are gentle on her sensitive skin and will protect her knees from bumps and scrapes. Jeans are too cute as the weather cools – pair them with high tops and a warm hoodie. Shorts are also comfortable for crawlers and look so cute in summer with bodysuits and vests. Denim shorts are particularly hardy and versatile – she’ll wear them everything in her wardrobe and you can layer them over tights when the weather becomes chilly. With pants, you don’t want to go too big as they’ll fall down and you don’t want to size them too right and then the waistband gets too tight. Look out for drawstring options which give the most room for growing babies. Comfort is a priority as you don’t want your baby to be fussy or her skin to get irritated so your baby’s bottoms should also offer plenty of room for nappies.
